Goldberg's 20-year comparison from 1998 to 2018 proves he's a monster

A lot has happened between 1998 and 2018.

FIFA took the World Cup to Africa and Asia for the first time, Facebook was founded and six Bond movies were released.

One thing remained constant, however… Bill Goldberg’s ripped physique.

Side-by-side photos published four years ago revealed a remarkable likeness between the fighter’s 32-year-old and 52-year-old builds – a few grey hairs besides, of course.

Goldberg stands at a height of 6ft 3in and weighs 266lb, making him one of WWE’s largest fighters.

His chiseled structure is a sight to behold, and has held the fighter in good stead throughout his wrestling career.

Nevertheless, the startling similarities between his two bodies, two decades apart, have left combat aficionados stunned.

Goldberg’s NFL background as a defensive tackle will come as no surprise to anyone who’s seen him.

The former Atlanta Falcons and LA Rams player enjoyed a five-year stretch in the NFL, before retiring due to a lower abdomen injury.

Goldberg transitioned into wrestling in 1997 and soon became known as one of the franchise’s strongest fighters, popularising his potent ‘Spear’ finishing move.

The fighter’s regime has included a relentless diet, featuring lean meats, protein and carbohydrates.

Speaking to GQ magazine in 2017 in the build-up to his comeback, the fighter revealed the extent of his nutritional intake.

“I had to take in a huge amount of food back in the day, but the amount that I have to take in now just to seemingly gain a couple of pounds is unfathomable,” Goldberg explained.

“I am like a machine, even more so than I was before, just trying to attain, physically, something that is passable, let alone Goldberg-esque.”
