‘Going to be hard work’ - pundits predict tight affair in Man City trip to West Ham

Manchester City travel to the London Stadium knowing a victory keeps them top of the Premier League. They remain the only top-flight side to hold a 100 per cent league record having won all four of their matches so far.

West Ham will provide a tough test after dropping just two points and they too remain unbeaten. Both clubs will have one eye on their opening European group fixtures this week as City launch their Champions League defence while West Ham try to go the distance in the Europa League.

The visitors will be without injured trio Mateo Kovacic, Jack Grealish and Kevin De Bruyne. Pundits are nevertheless confident that City will come away with something, although some are at odds over how many points the Blues will take back up North.

"Manchester City are going to completely control possession in this game, but West Ham boss David Moyes won't care about that. The Hammers will just be sitting back and waiting to spring forward, and they are very good at that.

"Moyes is great at what he does in games like this, which is setting up his side to keep their shape and be hard to break down. Yes, it's very different to Pep Guardiola's attacking philosophy, but these sorts of differences in tactics are part of what makes football so fascinating.
