Gogglebox fans fume 'how rude' after popular star told she looks 'ill' amid exit fears

Gogglebox fans have shared their outrage after one of the show's popular stars was told she looks 'ill'. Welsh couple Dave and Shirley Griffiths have recently been taking to social media where they have been sharing some photos from their summer holiday.

The couple are currently off-screen alongside their co-stars after the latest run of the hit Channel 4 show came to an end last month. And ahead of their return to filming on their sofas later in the year, Dave and Shirley decided to ditch the UK for Spain.

In one of their sweet holiday photos, the pair could be seen smiling for the camera and Shirley looked to be having a good time as she held her glass up to the camera as if to be giving a 'cheers' pose. The caption of the post: "Happy holidays everyone cheers #salou xxx."

But Dave was forced to respond when a fan left a comment about his wife, writing: "Shirley ok she looks ill." According to the Mirror, Dave politely replied: "She’s all good thanks x."

Fans of the pair, however, were rushing to respond as they were left disgruntled by the 'rude' comment. "Wow! How rude! That’s such an uncalled for comment! You look fab Shirley," said one fan in her defence. Another wrote: "What a terrible thing to say,"while a third added: "No need for that!"

Dave, 66, and Shirley, 67, from Caerphilly in South Wales first appeared in Gogglebox in 2015 and have become fan favourites ever since. But their recent trip abroad had fans worrying that they were making a permanent exit from the much-loved show.
