God Save the King booed by Scotland fans as Northern Ireland anthem drowned out at Hampden in England repeat

Scotland fans could be loudly heard booing Northern Ireland's national anthem of God Save the King at Hampden before the friendly showdown.

The Tartan Army made their voices heard ahead of the clash with Michael O'Neill's men as Steve Clarke's side ramp up their preparations for Euro 2024 at the national stadium. The reaction look to surprise some of the visiting players reaction sparked startled expressions. Meanwhile a performance of Flower of Scotland rang through Scotland’s national stadium as fans look to cheer their side on to end a six game winless run ahead of the tournament in Germany this summer.

It's not the first time Scotland fans have showered the anthem in boos. Before the 3-1 defeat to England last year, Gareth Southgate's side were met with a loud response as they belted out the anthem before kick-off. The home crowd will hope to be singing by the end of the night in Glasgow.
