God of War Ragnarok: How many hours will it take to complete?

God of War Ragnarok is, without doubt, one of the most hyped games of the year but how long will the game take to beat?

We know when the game is coming out, with Santa Monica Studios confirming that the game is set to hit storefronts across the world on November 9th, 2022.

There has been a lengthy wait for the new game, with God of War, the reboot that drove the series forward, coming out in April 2018.

Four years later, we are set to receive the follow-up to that reboot, which placed Kratos’s development as a man and a father front and centre, guiding his son, Atreus, on a potentially deadly, mythical quest.

There have been plenty of questions surrounding the length of the game, and we’ve got you covered with all of the information you need!

The noted insider Tom Henderson has written an article in Insider-Gaming, in which he has revealed the length of the game, which stands at 40 hours, to do absolutely everything and 100% complete the game.

Of course, that does not necessarily mean that there will be 40 hours-worth of gameplay, as there will also be cinematics within the game.

Henderson has revealed that players will need to set aside a total of 20 hours to complete the game’s main story, and that 3 and a half hours of the gameplay will be cinematic scenes. That leaves a total of 16 and a half hours for pure gameplay, if you’re trying to get through it as quickly as possible.

The side quests and such are going to take up the remaining 20 hours; 19 of those hours are gameplay and one is dedicated to cinematics.

Henderson also makes it clear that these running times will depend on how exactly you attempt to play the game.
