God of War Ragnarok: Cory Barlog pleads for patience

God of War fans are eagerly awaiting news on Ragnarok, the upcoming sequel to the absolutely sensational 2018 release on PS4.

The next-gen sequel is set to release on PS5 soon enough but we don’t have any release date information at this point.

Cory Barlog, the game’s producer, has repeatedly drip-fed hints on social media and he has again taken to Twitter to issue an update, although it may not be the one that fans want to hear.

Barlog has pleaded with fans to show some patience, perhaps in a hint that there simply isn’t going to be a huge dump of information any time soon.

He wrote: “Dear all. If it were up to me, I would share all the information when I know about it but it’s not up to me. So please, be patient. I promise things will be shared at the earliest possible moment they can be. We make games for you. We get to make games because of you.”

Ragnarok is said to be slated for a November release, as per a leak, but this has not been confirmed.

There have been a number of delays throughout the game’s stormy development; it was originally slated to come out in 2021 but Christopher Judge, the actor who plays Kratos, suffered an injury delaying production.

There have been some rumours suggesting that Ragnarok could again be delayed, this time to 2023, but the game’s animation director has previously claimed that they are still on track to ship in 2022.

It has been a continual struggle to learn new information about the sequel to God of War and Barlog is clearly bearing the brunt of fan frustration, hence his message.

We will keep a close eye on any new developments and bring them to you as and when they happen.
