GMB's Kate Garraway comforts guest as they break down over devastating diagnosis
Good Morning Britain host Kate Garraway comforted a guest on Friday's show as they discussing their devastating diagnosis that took 17 months.
During the latest episode, Kate, 57, and co-host Robert Rinder spoke to guest Emily-Jane who had been diagnosed with mesothelioma, which took 17 months to diagnose.
Speaking during an 'asbestos warning' segment, mum Emily-Jane, who first started experiencing symptoms during pregnancy, called for action.
Asked how she was doing during the emotional interview, Emily-Jane broke down in tears as Kate comforted the guest, leaning over to hold her hand.
Kate asked: "How are you now?" to which Emily-Jane replied: "Erm, mentally? It's hard" to which she broke down in tears to which Kate replied: "Oh, of course it's hard!"
The guest continued: "I'm just trying to stay as positive as possible and having young children helps. You just have to kind of get on with life, it's having that diagnosis.
"None of us know how long we've got? But being told you've got this and having that just there all the time is really... I just try my best to get on with things."
Fellow host, Robert, said at the end of the interview: "Emily, I want to thank you for coming in, I know you were a bit nervous to say the least before sitting down!"
Kate added: "I'm going to squeeze your hand, you've been amazing, it's amazing, you will have helped so many people by what you said! Thank you."
