Glory to play ALM, ALW games in Tasmania

Perth Glory will head to Tasmania to play three A-League Men matches and one A-League Women game in Launceston before returning to Western Australia next month.

The Glory men's and women's teams are both based in NSW and haven't played home games in Perth since their season openers in November and December respectively amid the extended WA border closure.

In a release, the Tasmania state government confirmed Perth's ALM team would face Brisbane on Sunday and Macarthur FC on February 23.

There will be a double-header on February 27 with the ALM team to play Western United and the ALW side to face league leaders Sydney FC.

"On behalf of the club, I would like to thank the Tasmanian state government for their outstanding level of support and for being so welcoming," Glory chief executive Tony Pignata said.

"We know there is a passionate local football community in Tasmania and we are really looking forward to engaging with them during our time in the state."

All of the games will be played at Launceston's UTAS Stadium, with Tasmania Premier Peter Gutwein describing the fixtures as a "massive coup" for the round ball game in the state.

Western United played two home games in Tasmania last season and the expansion club will play there again in April, when they are due to host the Glory and Macarthur.
