Glen Kamara handed Rangers transfer exit seal of approval but star told suitors won't sit up after Finland moment

Glen Kamara has been told a change of scenery from Ibrox might be a smart move, but that it might take more than a goal against San Marino to get clubs sitting up.

The Finnish international netted only his second goal for his country in a rout against the minnows, with the midfielder linking up nicely to slot the ball home after 19 minutes before an onslaught of five more goals followed. Kamara and co are now top of their Euro 2024 qualifying group as the 27-year-old made his mark with his future in question this summer.

Michael Beale admitted that all options were being considered for the man Rangers recruited for just £50,000 in 2019, but reports suggest the Ibrox outfit would be searching for a £5million transfer fee for his services. Kamara looked close to an exit from Glasgow last summer when Ligue 1 side Nice were said to be interested but a move never materialised under then boss Gio Van Bronckhorst.

The Finnish international himself revealed he had spoken with Beale about his imminent future, but wasn't 'surprised' to hear the Ibrox gaffer speak of a potential depature.

After the win against San Marino, Finnish national boss Markku Kanerva offered Kamara some transfer advice, but admitted he may need to do more than net against the minnows to earn a big move.

He said: "For all the players, I hope that these possible transfers would be ones where the development of the player is ensured. From that point of view, it is important that the new team offers a role and club at the highest possible level.

"I don't know if San Marino is a big indicator of his skills for the agents, but yes, even this match showed his strength. I hope Glen finds a good company.

"It was gratifying to see him succeed today. Above all, the
