Glastonbury viewers ask 'what is going on' minutes into SZA's set as they issue sound complaints

American singer SZA took to the Pyramid Stage on Sunday night to close Glastonbury Festival. SZA, whose real name is Solana Rowe , is known for her hits including Saturn, Snooze and Kill Bill.

The 34-year-old took to the stage shortly before 10pm, after a day that included the likes of Shania Twain, James, Paloma Faith and Avril Lavigne.

However many of those watching SZA's headline show at home took to social media to ask the same question about the sound quality. Writing on X, formerly Twiter, @SimmySimzx said: "What’s going on with SZA’s mic?!? while @mstaurusl also said: "What is going on with Sza’s mic? This sounds awful."

Meanwhile, @Banxy wrote: "I'm not sure who SZA is, but I don't think she's supposed to sound like that? and @MattyHayes22 said: "Someone needs to fix this sound for SZA because I've bigging her up and she sounds horrendous.

@JeromebIXIII said: "SZA literally sounds like she's singing through a walkie-talkie. I've never heard her live but I'm sure she should sound better than this" and @SkintyalFia said: "SZA is such a good artist and usually puts on such a good show but the sound quality is really putting me off this performance."

And @MrLiamArnold wrote: "It’s genuinely impossible to understand anything Sza is singing with these sound issues."

SZA was one of two female headliners at the event this year alongside Dua Lipa, who filled the Friday night headline slot.

SZA’s Glastonbury headline slot follows on from her Saturday night show at BST Hyde Park after which she posted on Instagram writing: “Thank you for vibing w me Hyde park. See ya tomorrow Glastonbury!!!!”
