Glastonbury Festival announces 'terrifying' change on how fans will buy tickets for 2025

Fans hoping to secure spots at Glastonbury in 2025 have described a number of changes to this year’s ticket policy as an ‘absolutely terrible decision’.

Earlier today, festival bosses announced that those looking for tickets to next year’s event will be placed in online virtual queues - sparking similarity to how tickets for Oasis’ big reunion tour were first made available.

This will mark a difference in how tickets have previously been made available where fans were able to refresh a landing page for availability. In addition to the way tickets can be secured, the cost of attending the festival has also been raised for the 2025 event.

Tickets will cost £13.50 more than this year’s event and will be priced at £373.50 each, with an additional booking fee of £5. In the last six years, ticket prices have gone up by £100 since 2019.

Registration for next year’s festival will close next Monday (November 11) at 5pm, with those successful in gaining a spot in the ballot being given a queue number. Bosses Michael and Emily Eavis have also warned that if you refresh your browser, this will result in sending you to the back to the start of the queue.

Fans have been warned against using multiple devices at one time - with one registration number and postal code to be used for a ‘lead booker’ and five others via the SeeTickets website. Tickets plus coach travel will go on sale on November 14 at 6pm, with regular tickets available from Sunday, November 17 at 9am.

As expected, the news was met with frustration from those who had become used to the previous ticket set-up.
