Glasgow Warriors overcome 13-point deficit to shock Bulls in thrilling URC final
The Glasgow Warriors produced a stunning come-from-behind victory to stun the Bulls 21-16 in a thrilling URC final at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria on Saturday night.
Glasgow, who are coached by South African Franco Smith, trailed 13-7 at half-time but an inspired second half performance saw them stun the Loftus faithful.
The Bulls were dominant in the first half, leading 13-0 courtesy of a try by flanker Marco van Staden and two penalties and a conversion by flyhalf Johan Goosen.
However, a try off a driving maul by Glasgow lock Scott Cummings just before half-time proved the turning point.
The Bulls had chances to go 20 points clear but instead were only leading 13-7 at the break.
It was a fired up Glasgow in the second half as they destroyed the Bulls with their driving maul. Reserve hooker George Turner also scored off a driving maul and a further try by centre Huw Jones saw them take the lead.
The Bulls had a final chance to steal victory at the death when they set up a lineout five metres from the tryline.
But Glasgow's defence kept them at bay to seal a stunning upset win.
