'Give him a new contract' - Manchester United fans love what David de Gea did vs Leeds United

Manchester United fans have reacted in delight after footage surfaced of David de Gea's celebrations following the Reds' second goal vs Leeds on Sunday.

United had to ride their luck at times against their fierce rivals at Elland Road but Leeds' attempts to break the deadlock were thwarted by De Gea and co in defence. The Reds' defensive stability laid the groundwork for the two late goals which sealed the three points.

Marcus Rashford notched yet another goal with ten minutes of normal time remaining as he rose highest to power a header past Illan Meslier. The victory was secured five minutes later thanks to a strike by substitute Alejandro Garnacho which sent the away end into raptures.

It was after Garnacho's strike that De Gea took the opportunity to enter Leeds supporters' bad books. As the ball hit the back of the net, the Spanish shot-stopper turned and celebrated in front of the home fans behind his goal.

The 32-year-old punched the air and screamed passionately as the Leeds end hurled abuse at United's number one. After the game, United supporters could not help but praise De Gea for his actions, here is what some had to say.

De Gea's future at Old Trafford remains in doubt at present after the decision has yet to be made to activate his one-year extension. Currently, the Spaniard, who has spent 12 years at the Theatre of Dreams, will be a free agent at the end of the campaign unless a deal can be negotiated which would see him remain in Manchester.
