Giro d’Italia crash 2023: 'No!' - Alberto Bettiol wiped out after official runs in front of him

A dramatic incident at the Giro d’Italia on Stage 10 saw a race official accidentally wipe out Alberto Bettiol (EF Education-EasyPost) as he ran across the road to tend to an injured rider. With Lukas Postlberger (Jayco–AlUla) on the tarmac after a crash involving Arkea–Samsic pair Warren Barguil and Michel Ries, the official stepped out without looking and knocked Bettiol off his bike.

Ad “No, no, no!” cried Rob Hatch on Eurosport commentary as Bettiol was upended. The incensed Italian quickly spring back to his feet and remonstrated with the official, who shouted back before crossing – safely – to the stricken Postlberger.
