Girl hit by van in FOURTH crash along three-mile stretch of road in just a matter of weeks

A teenage girl was rushed to hospital after being hit by a van on Hyde Road on Thursday afternoon (July 14). It marks the fourth major incident on the stretch of road in just a matter of weeks.

The busy main road has been branded as 'dangerous' by many horrified onlookers, following a stream of serious smashes there in the past month. A 23-year-old man tragically lost his life after a Range Rover ploughed into a phone mast on Tuesday and an 11-year-old boy was seriously injured in a hit and run crash at the end of June.

Earlier last month, seven passengers were checked over by paramedics after a crash involving two cars, with two taken to hospital for treatment. The incidents paint a stark picture of the amount of callouts emergency services have been dealing with on the troubled road in recent times.
