Gio van Bronckhorst scoffs at Rangers 'burden' claim as boss refuses to entertain Europa League theory

Gio van Bronckhorst has spoken of his pride at leading Rangers to the last eight of the Europa League - then insisted his men will bust a gut to go at least one better by getting past Braga.

The Scottish champions were paired with the Portuguese side they knocked out in the last 32 two years ago and if they repeat the feat they'll face either Italian outfit Atalanta or Bundesliga big guns RB Leipzig in the semis.

That's a mouth-watering prospect but van Bronckhorst is determined to look no further than Braga, who beat Monaco to reach this stage and whom, he insists, will be a huge hurdle to overcome.

Rangers will travel to Portugal for the first leg on April 7 and the Dutchman said: " Braga is a strong side. They were in the same group as Red Star so we have already watched the games they played against them.

“We are going to prepare well for this tie as well to go to the next round.

“We have achieved this moment together and we will fight hard to get to the next round.
