Gio van Bronckhorst rues 'unnecessary' Rangers slip ups as he insists Aaron Ramsey remains key man

Rangers boss Gio van Bronckhorst believes Rangers only have themselves to blame as they face an uphill fight to catch Celtic in the race for the title.

But he remains convinced Aaron Ramsey has a mammoth role to play in the coming weeks despite the Juventus loanee remaining an unused substitute in defeat to Braga.

The Europa League quarter final return leg remains crucial but there is domestic business to take care of this weekend.

Rangers turn their attention to St Mirren and could be nine points behind Ange Postecoglou's side by the time they kick off in Paisley.

And the Dutchman admits there is no wiggle room left if they have any hope of retaining the title they romped to last season by 25 points.

Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: "We need to be (perfect) now we switch back to domestic league. we have to keep the pressure on, of course the result last week didn't help us in achieving that but we have to keep going also there are games coming up as i said in April when you feel the pressure you are playing for major prizes but still in the end you don't have anything yet so we have to keep going.
