Gillingham FC's new Priestfield Stadium fan zone has taken another step forward after the former leisure centre was demolished, with drone photos revealing preparations for the 900-capacity matchday attraction.

Fresh aerial images reveal the latest progress on Gillingham FC's eagerly anticipated fan zone as work continues behind the Rainham End at Priestfield Stadium.

The new supporter hub, designed to accommodate up to 900 fans, is set to transform the matchday experience with food and drink outlets, live entertainment and big-screen football screenings.

Drone photographs show the former leisure centre site has been completely cleared and prepared ahead of the next phase of construction, offering supporters their clearest view yet of the project taking shape.

The fan zone will sit at the corner of the Gordon Road Stand and the Rainham End, an area that has long been one of Priestfield's busiest bottlenecks on matchdays.

The development forms part of wider investment under majority owners Brad and Shannon Galinson, who acquired a controlling stake in Gillingham in December 2022 and have overseen a series of improvements at Priestfield since then.

In a recent update to supporters, Brad discussed plans for the upcoming fan zone as part of the club's wider vision for the club.

To make way for the development, the club flattened the former sports hall, which previously housed squash courts and a gym but had stood vacant in recent years.

Once complete, the dedicated supporter area will cover almost 1,000 square metres and accommodate up to 900 home fans.

Plans approved by Medway Council show five custom-designed shipping containers positioned around the perimeter, which will be transformed into food and drink kiosks serving refreshments and rotating street food options.
