The sun’s beating down in the Algarve but there’s still a small black cloud hanging over the Scotland camp.

Steve Clarke and his squad suffered a bitter blow at the weekend when Lyndon Dykes was ruled out of their summer adventure.

But there’s no time for anymore pain with Euro 2024 just around the corner. To that end, Scotland face Gibraltar this evening hell-bent on injecting positivity back into their veins following seven games without a win.

Scott McTominay won’t feature due to a niggle but otherwise the manager has a strong and healthy squad. Goals and good times are the order of the day as the countdown to Germany truly begins ahead of the Hampden send-off against Finland on Friday. Lawrence Shankland has been given the nod upfront while James Forrest also starts.

The general assumption seems to be that Clarke has gone for a 4-2-3-1 here...but has he?
