Giants' Malik Nabers has 'sore' knee, doesn't practice - ESPN

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — New York Giants star wide receiver Malik Nabers did not practice Wednesday because of a knee injury, saying only he was more «sore» than usual.

He exited the Giants' first practice of the week Wednesday and sat on a medicine ball and talked to team trainers during the open portion of practice. The Pro Bowl receiver seemed to be walking with a slight limp when the two-hour practice was over.

«Just sore,» Nabers said at the podium moments later. «Just sore. We'll see how the next day goes, but through the week, I'm usually sore. But this one was kind of a little bit more sore. I always continue to fight through it.»

The Giants could use him in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Washington Commanders after already having lost Braxton Berrios to a season-ending foot injury.

Nabers tore the ACL in his right knee last season and needed a cleanup procedure earlier this year. He returned to the practice field for the start of training camp and was ready for the opener.

He had his most productive game since returning from the injury Sunday when he caught six passes on seven targets for 112 yards and a touchdown in a win over the Arizona Cardinals.

Coach John Harbaugh didn't seem too worried about his No. 1 receiver.

«He's doing great, yeah,» Harbaugh said. «He had a great day. Great spirits [Wednesday]. He had a good workday.»

When told that Nabers said he was sore, Harbaugh barely flinched.

«I'll take him at his word then,» he said.

Nabers isn't the Giants' only injury concern. Defensive lineman Chauncey Golston has a recurring neck problem that Harbaugh said «could» shut him down for significant time. The Giants and Golston are exploring all their options.
