Giants LB Tremaine Edmunds (chest) out for year, source says - ESPN

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — New York Giants middle linebacker Tremaine Edmunds is out for the season with a torn chest muscle, a source told ESPN.

Edmunds signed a three-year, $36 million deal with the Giants this offseason. He led the team with 50 tackles and was tied for the team lead with two sacks through six games this season.

«I think I said early on we have three starters. So, when and if that happens, Micah is ready [to start],» coach John Harbaugh said earlier Friday. «He's a starter, and he'll play really well. He'll be excited for his opportunity.»

McFadden has started 36 games in his career. He will be in the middle of the defense Sunday against the Houston Texans (2-4).

The Giants (3-2-1) also expect to have cornerback Paulson Adebo return from a knee injury. He was on injured reserve but had his window
