Ghostwire Tokyo: Release Date, Gameplay, Open World and Everything You Need to Know

Ghostwire Tokyo is an upcoming action-adventure title being developed by Tango Gameworks and published by Bethesda Softworks.

The new IP will see players take on the role of Akito, who utilises supernatural powers to tackle the otherworldly spirits that have invaded the Japanese capital.

Ghostwire is currently expected to have a timed-exclusive release on Playstation 5, with Microsoft set to get a release in the months following.

UPDATE 2nd February 2022: It has been revealed by Dusk Golem on Twitter that the embargo for the game is set to be lifted on Friday 4th February. Unfortunately for the developers, information on the release date was leaked early.

Dusk Golem tweeted: "There was an accidental Ghostwire: Tokyo leak (Tango Gameworks new game, devs of The Evil Within, headed by Shinji Mikami) within the last hour, just a hands-on preview went up earlier than intended.

"The game is releasing on March 24th, preview embargo lifts on February 4th. Details of the preview talk about how the game follows Akito, a demon hunter aided by a ghost who's taken residence in his home to defeat Yokai, who took over Tokyo.

"Combat involves 'Weaving,' using it to parry attacks & summon their essence with their hands, making combat 'weaving' past enemies, parrying & draining them while parkouring a bit.

"Damage on enemies doesn't use health bars, but the enemies will far apart, lose limbs, become more decrepit the more you 'pull' from them.
