Ghost hunter couple are 'chilled' after lottery win sees them get £10,000 every month for 30 years

A couple says they've been able to continue with their ghost-hunting after winning big on the National Lottery. A year on from their 'Set for Life' triumph they've been updating us on what they've done with the money.

Laura Hoyle, 40, and Kirk Stevens, 38, say they are "so chilled" after matching five main numbers and the Life ball in March 2021, netting them the envious prize of £10,000 every month for the next 30 years. During a phone call to Camelot, who runs the game, Laura can be heard saying "I'm just checking that's right before I, um, quit my job".

That is just what Laura did and now, a year on, they've been speaking about how they've spent the last 12 months. It appears most of their time has been searching for the supernatural Nottinghamshire Live reports.

Kirk has used the money to pay for his Masters degree.

The pair, from Nottingham, have done what you would expect a lottery winner to do, they bought a house. But they've also allowed them to enjoy their passion for ghost hunting and have even allowed them to investigate sites you wouldn't normally expect.

These included the National Justice Museum in the city, they were able to conduct their paranormal investigations out of hours.

"It still hasn’t really sunk in," Laura says. "I say that, yet I immediately quit my job and I’m doing stuff I normally wouldn’t have been able to do. I guess it’s all still surreal.

“I am so chilled about everything now, very relaxed and that is what the win has done for me. We are moving into a new house this month and it’s so stress free because I don't work now. We’ve been fortunate during Covid to go away, and once Kirk has finished his Masters degree in the Summer we are off to Disneyland Paris and lots of other exciting
