German flight to Canada diverts and lands at Manchester Airport after 'emergency'
A German flight to Canada was forced to divert and land at Manchester Airport on Sunday morning (September 24) after reports of an 'emergency' while in the air.
The Discover Airlines flight, from Frankfurt to Calgary, departed shortly before 9am and was heading to the Canadian city before it diverted over Scotland.
The flight path, according to FlightRadar24, shows the pilot had suddenly turned and flew south over parts of the UK before eventually landing at Manchester Airport at around 11.20am.

Updates from the Discover Airlines website has confirmed the flight diverted after around two hours before a second flight was scheduled to eventually reach Calgary.
Reports from Aviation Source say the diversion followed an 'emergency broadcast' over Scotland on Sunday morning. Further details about the reason for the diversion have not yet been confirmed but Discover Airlines have been contacted for more information.
