Ger Manley to replace Matthew Twomey as Cork boss

Former Cork hurler Ger Manley is set to take over the county's camogie side on an initial two-year term pending ratification.

Manley replaces the outgoing Matthew Twomey having acted as a coach during their triumphant All-Ireland campaign last season. Liam Cronin will also remain as a coach from the 2023 campaign.

Manley has worked with a number of hurling clubs previously in Munster and Leinster and was also part of the Cork minor management for three seasons.

"The Cork Camogie Board would like to wish Ger and his management team the very best of luck," Cork camogie said.

"They would also like to acknowledge the great work done by Matthew Twomey."

Twomey stood down in September, admitting the strain and pressure of inter-county management took its toll.

"It was a very hard decision in a sporting sense. I'm leaving probably the most lethal team I've ever been involved with. That side of things was hard, but on a personal level it was an easy decision to make."
