'George Best would be proud!' - Man United fans go wild as Jadon Sancho scores vs Liverpool FC

Manchester United made the dream start to tonight's Premier League showdown with Liverpool, getting their noses in front with just over 15 minutes on the clock.

After coming flying out of the traps and hitting the post in the opening exchanges through the recalled Anthony Elanga, Jadon Sancho showed tremendous composure to finish cooly past Alisson from inside the penalty area. The England international received the ball square from Elanga and steadied himself with a handful of touches before finishing expertly.

It was an excellent move from United and it resulted in a goal that their early dominance richly deserved. It was Sancho's first goal since March and he became the first Reds player to score in the Premier League since May.

The former Borussia Dortmund man had drifted inside after coming off the right-flank and found himself in the right place at the right time to collect Elanga's pass, swivel, steady himself and stroke the ball home. It sparked pandemonium inside Old Trafford and generated a feeling of excitement among the United fans on social media.

Below, MEN Sport has taken a close look at what they had to say in response to Sancho bagging his first goal of the season:

As you can see from the messages displayed in the tweets above, United's supporters waxed lyrical about Sancho's calmness in front of goal. It was a cool and composed finish from the former Dortmund man and it gave United nothing more than what they deserved.
