'Genuine' man, 28, dies in Thailand motorbike crash

A 28 year old man from Barry in Wales has tragically lost his life in a motorbike accident in Thailand. Corey Beavis, remembered by his family as a "genuine person with nothing but love for the people around him", died on Saturday, January 4.

Sharing their heartbreak, his family said: "On Saturday we received the devastating news our beautiful boy lost his life following a motorcycle accident. Corey lit up any room he walked into with his larger than life character and his infectious laugh.

"He had so much left to give this world, but also lived a life 10 times beyond his wildest imagination. He was a real genuine person with nothing but love for the people around him.

"As a family we've suffered immeasurable loss and now have to face the realities of repatriation and laying our beautiful boy to rest. Having not had travel and life insurance policies in place, the significant costs surrounding this are unimaginable."

In an effort to bring Corey home, his family, including his twin brother Liam, have started a fundraising campaign. Speaking to the BBC on Monday, Liam said Corey "lived his life to the fullest", reports Wales Online.

A well-loved figure in his hometown of Barry, the online fundraiser can be found here and has already collected close to £13,000 in just over 24 hours. The Foreign and Commonwealth Office confirmed on Monday that they are assisting the family of the British man who died in Thailand and are in contact with the Thai authorities.
