Gemma Atkinson reunites with Strictly Come Dancing’s Gorka Marquez as she teases 'exciting' project

Gemma Atkinson will reunite with fiancée Gorka Marquez for the first time in “four weeks” tonight as she watches the Strictly Come Dancing live show. The couple has spent time apart as he takes part in the latest series.

He has been training with Morning Live's Dr Punam Krishan and the pair spend their weeks training in Glasgow, where Punam is based, before moving onto London for the live show at a weekend. It means that Gorka hasn’t seen his fiancée Gemma, and their two children Mia and Thiago for several weeks, with him previously saying he felt guilty for being away.

But a reunion is on the cards as Gemma revealed on Instagram that she was heading to London today (Saturday, October 19) to watch the live show. Posting a video of her on the train on her Instagram stories, she said: “I’m en route to see Gorks, I’ve not seen him for - is it five weeks or four weeks? I can’t remember. So that will be nice.”

Gemma then teased an exciting project she has planned while she’s in London. She added: “Then I’ve got the awards - Pride of Britain - on Monday, and then I’ve got a photoshoot on Tuesday, a very exciting photoshoot actually. So yeah I’m off to London.”

Gorka previously said that he could come home for a two or three hours between training but it would be unfair on the kids. He said: "It's going to mess up their routine and I think for Mia now, she's used to, 'he's away, I'll see him when he's finished'. Me going home it may have them think I'm going to stay home and then I'm going to go away. So it's just juggling all those emotions and feelings but I can't wait to see them!"
