Gave the ball away 35 times, 12 duels lost, 0 shots on goal: Spurs trio have nightmare vs Wolves

Tottenham fell to a second home defeat in four days with Antonio Conte’s side losing 2-0 to Wolves on Sunday afternoon.

Conte made three changes from the side that lost to Southampton on Wednesday, one of which was Rodrigo Bentancur, who started his first game after joining from Juventus last month.

However, the Italian’s tinkering didn’t have the desired effect, with the visitors racing into a two-goal lead through Raul Jimenez and Leander Dendoncker.

Here at The Transfer Tavern, we’ve used statistical experts SofaScore to analyse who were Spurs’ three worst outfield performers to have played at least 45 minutes.

In total, these three players lost the ball a whopping 35 times and were second best in 12 of their aerial and ground duels and failed to register a shot on goal.

New signing Kulusevski came on for Ryan Sessegnon early on but struggled to catch the eye statistically. The Swede failed to have a shot on goal, lost the ball a whopping 16 times and didn’t contribute defensively at all.

He also lost six of his eight duels and was unsuccessful in both of his two attempted crosses.

Next up is Sanchez, who played on the right-hand side of a back three. He failed to make a tackle all afternoon and lost possession on nine occasions.

Sanchez also lost two of his duels and made an error which led to a shot for the visitors.

Lucas Moura, who was brought off with 20 minutes to go by Conte for Steven Bergwijn, is last on the list with a rating of 6.8/10.

The Brazilian had just one shot off target all afternoon, failed to complete a dribble and lost the ball 10 times. He was also second-best in four of his seven duels and committed two fouls, one of which resulted in a booking.
