Gas leak sees several homes evacuated for almost three hours
Several homes were evacuated for nearly three hours on Monday morning as fire crews dealt with a gas leak near Pontarddulais.
Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said crews from Pontarddulais and Ammanford were called to Garnswllt Road just before 7.30am after a propane tank in the area was damaged by a fallen tree and released gas.
A 100 metre cordon was put in place and neighbouring properties were evacuated so the tank could be isolated and made safe. A gas engineer was also sent to the scene.
A spokesman for Mid and West Fire and Rescue said: "The cordon has now been removed and occupants have been able to return to their properties. The incident has been left with the on-site gas engineer, and crews left the scene at 10.07am."
