Gary Neville starts new job during Man United's Premier League opener vs Fulham

Gary Neville is set to become a familiar face on US television, joining NBC for the 2024/25 Premier League season as a pundit.

Since hanging up his boots in 2011, the former Manchester United defender has been a stalwart of British football broadcasting. He is now poised to charm American audiences, with NBC scooping him up for their coverage.

NBC trumpeted their new signing, stating: "NBC Sports is proud to welcome Gary Neville to the team as a special contributor throughout the 2024/25 season!"

According to the network, Neville will focus on Sunday game analyses, but he is juggling his commitments with Sky Sports on Friday evening, appearing on NBC during an advert break.

Neville is expected to continue to be a lead pundit with Sky Sports, as his NBC role is described as a "collaboration with Sky Sports." and both broadcasters are owned by American giant Comcast. His move to NBC could see a spike in viewership, building on the broadcaster's recent success including a record-breaking 'Championship Sunday' viewership of nearly three million.

Amid these broadcasting shifts, viewers can also anticipate several on-pitch changes confirmed ahead of tonight's Premier League kick-off. One of the alterations is the number of substitutes permitted to warm up at any one time.
