Gary Neville insists Liverpool can have an "incredible season" after performing a U-turn over his belief that they were a team "in decline".

Jurgen Klopp 's side have the opportunity to claim their first silverware of the season when they take on Chelsea in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley on Sunday.

The Reds have been in relentless form of late and find themselves fighting for trophies on all four fronts after clawing their way back into this season's Premier League title race.

And prior to Sunday's showpiece final, former Manchester United defender Neville admitted that Klopp's side have forced him to backtrack on his belief that Liverpool were "in decline".

"I thought Liverpool were in decline," the Sky Sports pundit revealed. "In decline from a very, very high place.

"They were one of the best teams that you’ll see in Premier League a few years ago when they won it.

"What I think they’ve done is dip off that level a little bit, but now it feels like they’re coming back
