Gary Neville names two things Antony must improve at Manchester United

Gary Neville is optimistic that Antony can become a star at Manchester United after his impressive performance in Sunday's 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest at the City Ground - but has warned that he must improve two key aspects of his game.

After scoring his first Premier League goal since October to break the deadlock in the first half, tapping the ball home from close quarters, the former Ajax ace produced a classy assist for Diogo Dalot to double United's lead with 14 minutes of normal time left on the clock. He was a constant threat throughout, offering encouragement that he can play a key role both during the run-in and in the long-term.

Antony has improved in recent weeks, producing more eye-catching and encouraging performances, even though he has struggled for consistency during his debut campaign at Old Trafford, following last summer's £85.8million switch from Ajax. He now has eight goals and two assists in all competitions for the club.

And having produced such a promising performance on the banks of the Trent, Neville is confident that United have an exciting prospect on their hands, but has admitted that the Brazilian international must improve both his consistency and his decision-making in attacking situations.

"He has looked frustrating at times but with someone like him, you just need to persist with him," said Neville, speaking to Sky Sports. "Obviously they have paid a lot of money, so they will.

"If he can gain consistency to his game and his decision-making in the final third can become a little bit more refined, he becomes a hell of a player.
