Gary Neville believes Man City in one of worst possible scenarios and in for major Liverpool shock
Gary Neville has warned that Manchester City could drop points against Wolves or West Ham and give Liverpool a Premier League title boost.
City have had a slim, one-point advantage over the Reds in the race for the top-flight crown for some time. Either side could have provided a massive twist with victory in April’s meeting, but a draw kept the situation the same.
That is – until Saturday, when Liverpool could only draw 1-1 with Tottenham at Anfield.
City consequently responded by thrashing Newcastle 5-0. Not only are Pep Guardiola’s side now three points clear, they also have +4 goal difference swing on Jurgen Klopp’s men.
However, Guardiola confirmed that key defensive trio Ruben Dias, John Stones and Kyle Walker will all miss the rest of the season through injury.

“The injury is a boost for Liverpool’s chances. I do think there is something left in this title race. It won’t go plain sailing to the end.
“If City get through the next two, they’ll win it. Wolves or West Ham have to pull points off City but it’s not over.”
Indeed, Neville added that, behind Arsenal and Tottenham, Liverpool would have picked Wolves and West Ham as the next hardest away games for City.
“Manchester United have gone and Chelsea have dropped their levels,” the pundit added.
“There is a lot to play for.
