Gary Anderson's iconic darts interview after being accused of farting mid-game
Gary Anderson is arguably one of the greatest darts players of all time, but in one of the funniest post-match interviews of all time, he had to deny accusations that he farted on stage back in 2018.
The two-time world champion was accused of farting by Dutchman Wesley Harms at the Grand Slam of Darts in Wolverhampton, but he swiftly denied the claims.
There have been many reasons for players to argue down the years, such as players throwing too slowly or celebrating too wildly to put the opponent off their game, but ‘fartgate’ was a first.
Speaking to Dutch TV after his 10-2 victory in the quarter-final, Anderson said: “I thought he had a s***. I thought he had farted on stage.
“You can put your finger up my a**, there will be no smell there. I thought he had s***. It was dirty. It was a stinker.
“I swear on my children’s lives. But it was smelly. If I had farted, I would have put my hands up and admitted it.
“It was eggs. Rotten eggs. Every time he walked past, it was a waft of rotten eggs. If somebody has done that they need to see a doctor.”
GARY ANDERSON denying that he farted on stage is one of the funniest interviews you will ever see!
