Galway's Róisín Leonard lands July LGFA Player of the Month award
Róisín Leonard has been named the July Croke Park Hotel/LGFA Player of the Month following some stellar performances for Galway.
Leonard scored 3-08 in two games for the Tribeswomen as they secured their passage to Sunday's All-Ireland final against Kerry at GAA HQ.
The Corofin clubwoman has had an impressive championship season so far and sits top of the scoring charts overall alongside team-mate Olivia Divilly having hit 4-13 across the westerners' campaign.
Leonard played a key part in Galway's surprise win over defending champions Dublin in the quarter-final hitting two first-half goals as the Connacht fought back, after a slow start, to win an epic after extra-time at Parnell Park.
She added a further 1-05 in the semi-final victory over Cork as the Tribeswomen led from the front thanks to her goal after a quarter of an hour.
Leonard will look to play a similar role on Sunday as Galway look to land just their second senior All-Ireland title.
