Gallagher replaces Alexander-Arnold for England v Slovenia

COLOGNE, Germany : England made one change to the starting team for their final Euro 2024 Group C game with Conor Gallagher coming into midfield in place of Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Never one to make sweeping changes to his tournament lineups, England manager Gareth Southgate has stayed loyal to the side heavily criticised for their opening two displays.

Gallagher will give Declan Rice a more natural midfield partner compared to converted right back Alexander-Arnold who had appeared uncomfortable in the role.

Phil Foden, who has also struggled to make an impact so far, keeps his place on the left side of England's attacking trio.

Despite being unimpressive so far, England lead the group and are already assured of a last-16 berth while a victory over Slovenia will seal top spot.

Slovenia, who will be sure to progress if they avoid defeat, named an unchanged side for a third successive match, with top scorer in qualifying Benjamin Sesko fit to start after worries about a muscle injury sustained in the draw with Serbia.
