Gaelic Grounds to host Kerry-Clare Munster football final

The TUS Gaelic Grounds will stage the Munster SFC final between Kerry and Clare on Sunday 7 May.

Following a meeting of the Munster GAA Competitions Control Committee, it was decided that the Limerick venue will host the first provincial decider between the counties since 2000.

Informal talks between board officials in Clare and Kerry had taken place around the possibility of staging the decider at Cusack Park in Ennis - a first at the venue since 1919.

However, Munster officials have opted for the neutral venue that is the Gaelic Grounds, with the game throwing in at 4pm.

The Connacht SFC final on the same day, featuring Galway and Sligo, is set for Elverys McHale Park in Castlebar, and has a 1.45pm start.
