Gabriel Jesus spotted with Arsenal squad ahead of Leeds match

Gabriel Jesus has travelled with the Arsenal squad for Sunday’s game at Leeds amid fears he could miss the match through injury.

Arsenal news, exclusives and analysis

The star forward was injured during last Sunday’s 3-2 win over Liverpool and missed Thursday’s trip to Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League.

Following the 1-0 win in Norway, Mikel Arteta suggested that the Brazilian may not be able to play at Elland Road, saying: ‘I don’t know, obviously he has some discomfort after the game against Liverpool.

‘That’s why we decided not to bring him in [to Norway], so let’s see how he is Friday and Saturday.’

Jesus has started all nine of the Gunners’ Premier League matches this season, helping propel the club to the top of the table, with his five goals and three assists barely justifying his incredible influence on the team.

As such speculation surrounding his absence has Arsenal fans worried, but there is some good news for supporters, as the 25-year-old was pictured alongside the rest of the squad on Saturday on their journey up to Leeds.

One can assume that this means that Jesus is fit to play some part in the fixture, though whether he can continue in the starting XI remains to be seen.

Should he be left on the bench, Eddie Nketiah will likely start up top in his place, with the 23-year-old yet to score in the Premier League this season, though he has managed two goals in his three Europa League appearances.
