Gabriel Jesus' Golden Boot odds and Arsenal's chances for a top four finish

Gabriel Jesus has joined Arsenal and becomes the Gunners fourth summer transfer window signing this year. The Gunners confirmed the signing from Manchester City for a reported fee of around £45million.

The Brazil international was on the shortlist for Mikel Arteta's side for some months, as revealed by football.london and now the move has now been finalised with Jesus set to wear the number nine for the Gunners. The move makes this Jesus' third club in his career since making his professional debut for Palmeiras and moving to Man City in 2017 for £27million.

The 25-year-old scored 28 goals in 83 appearances for the Brazil Serie A side picking up a league title in 2016 and the Copa do Brasil the year before. Since joining City, Jesus has scored 123 times in 319 appearances in all competitions including 58 goals in the Premier League.

His time at City has often been overshadowed with the likes of Sergio Aguero being the preferred striker choice but since he left the club for Barcelona, Jesus should have been the first-choice but made 29 league appearances in 2020/21 and 28 the year after - continuing his role as a squad player rather than a regular starter.

On the international stage, Jesus has picked up a gold medal at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, a Superclasico de las Americas and Copa America title. He has scored 19 times in 56 appearances for his national side.

Jesus has been priced by bookies Betway at 16/1 to win the Golden Boot at the end of this season. The price indicates that it is unlikely for the Brazilian to finish as one of the top Premier League goalscorers although current holder Son Heung-min is surprisingly priced at 14/1.

Jesus' replacement Erling Haaland is the favourite at 10/3 while
