Fulham’s Adarabioyo makes Carabao Cup Team of the Quarter-final round

Tosin Adarabioyo

Tosin Adarabioyo has been named in the Carabao Cup Team of the quarter-final round, after helping Fulham progress into the semi-final for the first time in their history.

The Team of the Quarter-final round was published on the Carabao Cup X handle on Thursday.

Adarabioyo put up a five-star performance as Fulham beat Everton via penalty shootout in Tuesday’s quarter-finals at Goodison Park.

The London club triumphed 7-6 on penalties after 90 minutes of football ended 1-1.

Adarabioyo, recently recalled to the starting line-up having missed three months of action due to groin surgery, delivered a commanding display at the heart of Fulham’s defence.

The former Manchester City player stood up impressively to an increasingly aerial bombardment from Everton.

He then converted the winning penalty to secure Fulham’s progress into the semi-finals.

Adarabioyo started his professional career with Manchester City making his senior debut in 2016 after progressing through the club’s youth ranks.

He later became the then-youngest-ever player to start a UEFA Champions League match for the club and made eight appearances across all competitions before loan spells at West Bromwich Albion and Blackburn Rovers.

In July 2020, he joined his current club Fulham on a permanent deal.

Despite featuring frequently at youth level for England, he is yet to make his senior debut for the national team and remains eligible to represent Nigeria through descent.
