Frustrated residents without ‘important mail’ for two weeks
Residents in Levenshulme claim they have missed hospital appointments, passports, driving licences, and could miss bills due to not receiving any post for more than two weeks.
The neighbours say they did not receive any post on Slade Lane during June until the 16 May, causing chaos for residents.

“I’ve just received today [16 June] a pile of letters, including four NHS appointments, bills, and DLA forms dating to 2 June that urgently needed to be submitted. It takes months for allowances and hospital consultations to process - I’m worried I’ll have to start over by missing deadlines,” said a resident, who did not want to be named.
The resident says they tried to contact their postal office, but due to automated messages, couldn’t get through to anyone. Royal Mail said it takes residents' concerns very seriously and encourages anyone experiencing delays to contact them directly.
“My son flies out on 26 June, we were in a panic waiting for his passport to arrive. We could have lost a lot of money on tickets.
“I rely on letters through the post service to organise my life around important mail and dates. It’s completely messed me up and I won’t be the only one” the resident said.
Manchester Evening News reporter Kieran Isgin, who was one of the residents affected by the delays, said: “I’ve been waiting on a hospital scan and now it might mean I’ll miss the appointment the NHS sent to me because I didn’t know to call and confirm it without the letter.
