"From what I'm told..": Journo drops big Lennoxtown claim Celtic supporters will love - opinion

Celtic have rarely been shy when it comes to dipping into the transfer market and splashing the cash to bring new players to the club.

Last summer’s transfer window was a prime example of this as the Hoops spent a total of just over £20m according to Transfermarkt.

Now that Ange Postecoglou’s side have secured the Premiership title, their focus can now switch towards the upcoming summer transfer window and whatever business they feel is needed before the 2022/23 campaign kicks off.

Looking ahead to this period, it seems as though a behind-the-scenes clue has emerged out of Lennoxtown which should have lots of Celtic fans buzzing.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, transfer insider Dean Jones touched upon Celtic’s financial situation for the upcoming summer transfer window.

He said: “They have to prioritise those two deals (Jota and Cameron Carter-Vickers) but, from what I’m told, they will get additional backing too.

“I think that the success in terms of recruitment so far under Ange has convinced the club that this isn’t a gamble. He doesn’t bring in players that he’s not convinced will fit into what he’s doing.”

With Jota and Carter-Vickers set to see their loan spells with the Hoops come to an end in the next few days, it seems almost certain that those two will be the immediate focus in terms of potentially signing permanent deals, as Jones mentioned.

Taking into account how the duo made a combined 52 Premiership appearances this season, it’s safe to suggest that the club would be keen to keep hold of them for the foreseeable future.

Looking beyond those two, to hear that Postecoglou will then get extra financing backing from the Celtic owners to once again dive into the transfer market and sign whatever players he sees fit
