From Italy: West Ham now eyeing ‘sensational’ £165k-p/w 'legend' after alleged contact by agents

As per Italian source Calciomercato, West Ham United are now eyeing Paris-Saint Germain midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum for manager David Moyes.

According to 90min, this hasn’t this first time that Moyes and the Irons have been linked with the former Liverpool star.

Indeed, the outlet claimed back in December that the player’s own representatives had sounded out the Hammers over a potential move among ‘several’ Premier League and European clubs.

After his agents allegedly made contact with West Ham, it appears that the east Londoners are taking an interest beyond January.

As per Calciomercato, sharing an update, the Hammers are now apparently interested in signing Wijnaldum alongside the likes Aston Villa and Newcastle United.

The report added that the 31-year-old could indeed leave PSG after just one season under Mauricio Pochettino.

Described as a ‘sensational’ player and ‘legend’ of Liverpool by Jurgen Klopp, we believe that a move for the Netherlands international shouldn’t be entirely dismissed.

Wijnaldum is able to play a variety of roles in midfield both offensively and defensively, not to mention having a plethora of experience on the biggest stages in world football. Amassing 85 caps for his country, the 2019 Champions League winner could bring an elite level mentality to Rush Green and provide that injection of top-level wisdom.

Depending on PSG’s price tag, we can’t picture the French giants demanding much given his age and lack of starting time at the Parc des Princes this season.
