From Hulk Hogan to Nick and Naas: 10 of the wackiest costumes at Sevens World Cup

As the Sevens World Cup in Cape Town kicks into full swing on Saturday, spectators continue to stream through the gates and onto the stands.

By the time the Blitzboks take on Ireland in their quarter-final at 22:33, Cape Town Stadium is expected to be packed and rocking. 

Already, there are some weird and wonderful costumes doing the rounds, as has become tradition at Sevens events all over the globe. 

Cape Town, once again, has risen to the occasion. 

Sport24's Lloyd Burnard spent some time walking around the iconic World Cup venue early on Saturday, and these are some of the most colourful costumes he stumbled upon. 

There was even an ode to the SuperSport rugby commentary crew from one group, led by Cape Town-based friends Geoff Wylde and Matthew Robinson. 

"We were going to come as referees," Robinson told Sport24.

"But then the SuperSport idea came to us, and we thought that would work nicely."

Robinson and his crew made a full commitment to their costumes complete with suits, ties and even SuperSport badges that were printed in 3D and then pinned to their suits.
