From Germany: Spurs enter mix to sign ‘dream’ player for Conte as news emerges on £33.4m striker

According to Sport Bild in Germany, as relayed by Sport Witness, Tottenham Hotspur have now entered the mix to sign Red Bull Salzburg striker Benjamin Sesko.

Last month, reliable reporter Alasdair Gold listed the signing of a striker as one of manager Antonio Conte’s four main transfer priorities at Tottenham.

Alas, despite rumoured talks being held near the end of January, the Lilywhites and transfer chief Fabio Paratici were unable to bring one through the door.

That hasn’t stopped the club from scouring the market for possible summer targets, though, as news emerges on Salzburg sensation Sesko.

As per Sport Bild, via SW, Tottenham have now entered the mix for Sesko alongside the likes of Bayern Munich, Lazio and Liverpool.

The Slovenia international has featured regularly for Salzburg in the Champions League this season whilst also grabbing seven goals and seven assists in all competitions.

At just 18-years-old, Sesko has already accomplished some milestones, namely minutes in Europe’s most prestigious competition and seven senior caps at international level.

The colossal 6 foot 4 striker also pulled up trees in the Austrian second division last season, scoring a noteworthy 21 goals in 29 league appearances for FC Liefering.

This could highlight his proficiency in front of goal with the teenager clearly possessing an abundance of ability.

However, according to some sources, Spurs may have to invest significantly – with a report from Sky (via Defensa Central) claiming that Salzburg won’t sell for less than €40 million (£33.4m).

Described as a ‘dream‘ player by his manager Matthias Jaissle, it remains to be seen whether Tottenham will fork out that kind of money.
