Friends actresses pay tribute to Matthew Perry after his sudden death at 54

A fellow Friends actress has paid tribute to Matthew Perry following his death at the age of 54.

Paget Brewster, who portrayed Kathy on the fourth season of the NBC sitcom, explained how Perry was "lovely" to her while the pair were on set. The superstar actor who played Chandler Bing throughout 10 seasons of Friends was found dead at his home in Los Angeles due to an apparent drowning in his hot tub, according to US media outlets.

A source told TMZ that Perry died after he played a two-hour round of pickleball on Saturday morning. His assistant was sent off to run an errand and returned to the house to find Perry in an unresponsive state, with emergency services declaring him dead at the scene.

Paying tribute to her fellow co-star, Brewster wrote on X, formerly Twitter: "I’m so very sad to hear about @MatthewPerry. He was lovely to me on Friends and every time I saw him in the decades after.

"Please read his book. It was his legacy to help. He won’t rest in peace though.. He’s already too busy making everyone laugh up there."

Other Friends actors also paid tribute to Perry, including Maggie Wheeler and Morgan Fairchild, who said he brought joy "to so many". Wheeler, who played Perry's on-off girlfriend Janice Hosenstein throughout the early series of the show, said on Instagram: "What a loss. The world will miss you Matthew Perry.

"The joy you brought to so many in your too short lifetime will live on.“I feel so very blessed by every creative moment we shared.”
