Fresh Dundee downpour puts Rangers on yellow weather alert as Sean Batty and Co fear worst

Dundee's clash with Rangers at Dens Park on Wednesday night has been cast under another shadow, with a yellow weather warning now in place across the city.

Large parts of the north east of Scotland have been ravaged with heavy rain in the last week, and it is showing no signs of subsiding as we approach Wednesday night's potentially decisive fixture in the Premiership title race. On Monday night, Record Sport told you Dens Park bosses have drawn up contingency plans in the event that the surface is not in a suitable condition to play on.

These proposals include requesting that the game is pushed back by 24 hours and in a 'worst case scenario' that the fixture is held behind closed doors at a neutral venue. Steelmen boss Stuart Kettlewell was left furious by the state of the surface and the dangers it posed to his players, despite a dramatic injury time winner from Moses Ebiyeye handing his side a 3-2 victory.
