Fresh Brennan Johnson transfer link emerges as Nottingham Forest make important announcement

It has been a relatively quiet weekend with no Nottingham Forest fixture after the trip to Bournemouth was postponed, but there has still been plenty of news about the Reds.

At NottinghamshireLive, we have compiled all the latest Forest headlines for you on Monday, February 21.

Crystal Palace boss Patrick Vieira is reported to be keen on Nottingham Forest star Brennan Johnson.

Reports in the national press say the Eagles’ manager is planning a double swoop for the Reds winger along with Ajax defensive midfielder Edson Alvarez.

Vieira is understood to want to freshen up his midfield options ahead of next season and it is claimed the much sought-after Johnson is on his radar.

The rapid Welsh winger has also been the subject of interest from Brentford, who have reportedly had multiple bids rejected by Forest.

Burnley, Leeds United, Leicester City, Everton, Newcastle United, Southampton and Brighton have also been mentioned as being interested in his services.

Nottingham Forest have been linked with interest in versatile Burton Albion defender Tom Hamer.

The 22-year-old, who started out at Oldham Athletic, is primarily known as a right-back but has also been deployed as a centre-half and defensive midfielder.

Another big attraction is the fact that he has an eye for goal and a reputation for possessing a long throw, ideal for threatening slinging balls into the box and a tactic deployed by many a Championship club with players who have that in their locker.

Transfer specialist Alan Nixon claims Forest have the young player on their radar ahead of the summer transfer window, while Hull City are also reported to be ready go back in for the player they tried to sign in January.
