Fresh appeal issued after motorcyclist, 21, airlifted to hospital following crash
Detectives have released a fresh appeal for information after a motorcyclist was airlifted to hospital following a crash. Officers were called out to Eldon Street, in Bolton, following a reports of a collision involving two vehicles at around midday last Thursday, August 31.
Greater Manchester Police confirmed at the time that the motorcyclist, a 21-year-old man, had been airlifted to Salford Royal Hospital after suffering 'potentially life-threatening injuries'. In an update issued today (September 6), GMP's serious collision investigation unit (SCIU) is urging witnesses to come forward.
Police understand that a vehicle travelling south on Eldon Street approached the junction of Warby Street moments before the collision. Meanwhile, a motorbike emerged from Connaught Square and collided with the vehicle, which led to the motorcyclist being unseated.

Both motorists remained at the scene while further enquiries were conducted. A GMP spokesperson added: "GMP’s SCIU are now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.
"They are also keen to speak to anyone who may have any footage, including dashcam, mobile phone footage from the area in the moments leading up to the collision." Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 0161 856 4741, quoting reference number of 1321 of August 31, 2023.
